DESCRIPTION:Ma’s House is hosting their 2024 Friendraiser on Thursday\, September 19\, at the historic Canoe Place Inn. The evening is a celebration of the arts and BIPOC communities in the Hamptons with a program honoring three individuals for their contributions to these communities: \n\n\n\n\n\nLisa Goree\, Chair of the Shinnecock Nation Tribal Council and Southampton Town Assessor\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnthony Madonna\, Guild Hall’s Patti Kenner Director of Learning + New Works\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFred W. Thiele\, Jr.\, New York State Assemblyman\, District 1\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe evening will include performances by Native American musicians\, including Shinnecock vocalists The Thunderbird Sisters\, Cherokee drummer Jeffrey Pegram\, and Shinnecock cover artist / acoustic performer Matt Hunter. To sign up hit NEXT then ACCEPT. \nPurpose\nOur local beaches are stewarded by volunteers just like you! We welcome you to an engaging day of toes in the sand with family\, friends and new acquaintances\, raising awareness about litter and plastic pollution.  \nYour Role\nUpon arrival\, you will learn more about how to safely skim the beaches for waste that doesn’t belong. We will also go over how to record data on trash collected. This allows us to use data to influence laws and reduce waste at the source! \nVibe\nActive teamwork\, education and fun!
