Since 1697, Canoe Place has been a favorite East End destination for travelers, but it has also been a beloved gathering spot for local friends and neighbors. We launched the OAR Society to honor that incredible local history, and to encourage the Southampton community to become Canoe Place regulars.
The OAR (“Only Area Residents”) Society is an invitation-only dining program exclusively for locals. Members will enjoy special savings of 16.97% on food at Good Ground Tavern when dining with us through 12/31/2023 unless extended (see terms and conditions below).
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Who is eligible for the OAR Society? Anyone who resides in the town of Southampton (including the following villages and hamlets: Bridgehampton, East Quogue, Hampton Bays, North Haven, Quogue, Quioque, Remsenberg, Riverside, Sag Harbor, Sagaponack, Shinnecock Hills, Southampton, Southampton Village, Speonk, Tuckahoe, Water Mill, Westhampton, Westhampton Beach and Westhampton Dunes).
- What if someone living in my household wants to use my card? We encourage all adults 18 years or older in the household to register for their own card. Member must be present when using the OAR card at Good Ground Tavern.
- How do I get my member card? Your member card will be available for pick up at the front desk of Canoe Place Inn. If you have not picked up your card within 14 days of registering for the program, we will mail your card to the address you provided when registering online. You can use the card immediately upon receipt. Please present your card when making a reservation and when seated in the dining room.
- What if I cannot find or lose my card? Please contact oar@canoeplace.com for a replacement.
- How can I tell my local friends to join this program? Anyone who resides in the town of Southampton can register for the program at canoeplace.com/oar.

The OAR Society program discounts are valid for a maximum of 6 persons in your party. Cannot be used in conjunction with other promotions, including happy hour, holidays or special events. Cannot be applied to gratuity, tax, take-out or room service charges or dining credits included in room packages. By joining our OAR Society, you agree to be added to our email newsletter. We will email you periodically with promotions, offers and news from Canoe Place. Offer valid through 12/31/2023 unless extended beyond that date.
