“Common Ground,” winner of the Tribeca Film Festival Human/Nature award along with various other awards throughout the world, is a follow-up to the hit documentary “Kiss the Ground”, the film features Laura Dern, Jason Momoa, Woody Harrelson, Ian Somerhalder, Donald Glover, and Rosario Dawson, and U.S. Senator Cory Booker. This film explores how regenerative agriculture can help heal the soil, our health, and the planet.
“Regenerative farming is one of the best tools we have to care for our lands, protect the environment, and promote vibrant rural communities while leveling the playing field for small and family farms, said Senator Booker, New Jersey. “We must fix our broken food system, and one of the best ways to do that is by encouraging soil-building regenerative practices. I’m proud to continue working to elevate this movement and the voices of our farmers, workers, and consumers in urban and rural communities.”
“Common Ground is about how we heal our land and it’s a love letter to our kids who will inherit this earth,” said Jason Momoa.
Event Details:
At the upcoming screening of Common Ground Film at Canoe Place, the film will explore the principles of regenerative agriculture and its positive impact on our environment, health, and community. Viewers will also gain insights into the challenges farmers face and the tireless efforts they make to cultivate regenerative practices. Most importantly, why it’s essential for us to all feel empowered to participate in restoring the world’s soils and its connection to our collective human health. Following the screening, the Q&A session will provide an opportunity for the audience to engage directly with Team Members from Kiss the Ground, which is an audience-supported nonprofit promoting regeneration and healthy soil as a viable solution for our wellness, water, and climate crisis. Since 2013 they’ve inspired millions to participate in the Regenerative Movement through storytelling, education, and partnerships. This discussion will deepen understanding of the film’s themes, answer specific questions, and encourage dialogue about actionable steps individuals can take to support regenerative practices in their own communities.
We are also welcoming our friends from Surfrider Foundation and guests will also have an opportunity to learn about their Ocean Friendly Gardens Program and Clean Water Initiative.
Overall, it promises to be an enlightening and inspiring experience!
