Guide to Beaches in the Hamptons

A vacation to the Hamptons is a visit to a seaside oasis full of natural and cultural beauty. A visit to this charming town opens your world to salty breezes, sparkling sun on the sea, sand beneath your toes, and relaxation. Whether you prefer to fill your beach day with adventure on the water or with your toes in the sand, all beach lovers are welcome at our favorite Long Island beaches.

Ponquogue Beach

When we think of our Long Island beaches, we picture Ponquogue. By far the most popular ocean beach near Southampton, this sprawling white sand beach serves up stunning views all the way to the horizon. Located right off the Ponquogue Bridge near the Shinnecock Inlet, this summer destination has public restrooms, shower stations, a snack bar, and popular restaurants nearby.

Tiana Beach

Just a short drive away from Ponquogue Beach, you’ll find pristine sand, volleyball courts, lifeguards on duty, and locals who might just know the Hamptons’ most intimate secrets. Perfect for families and those who prefer a bit more privacy, this small Hamptons beach is the ideal place to crack open your beach read and get a few more freckles on your nose.

Cooper’s Beach

Some say this strip of sand and sea makes up the best beach in the Hamptons, while others say the decision is still up for debate. If you’re willing to be the judge, head to Cooper’s Beach where there’s no shortage of luxury. Beach goers can rent umbrellas and chairs, dine at the deck’s picnic tables, and enjoy the beautiful views with their toes in the pristine white sand.

Cupsogue Beach

You’ll find this Long Island beach at the very end of Dune Road, giving you a feel for the opulence and glamor that has given the Hamptons its reputation along the way. Cupsogue Beach is the perfect background for a day full of activities like fishing (especially saltwater bass!), scuba diving, swimming, and picnicking.

Cryder Beach

Of all the beaches in Southampton, Cryder Beach is the most popular surf spot. Located right off the Gin Lane, this beautiful area is known for great waves, friendly faces, and blue skies. Calling all adventurous beach bums—we’ve found your new favorite playground.
