Above all else, the Hamptons are known for their beautiful deep blue landscape and delicious freshly-caught seafood. So, as you would expect, the restaurant scene near Southampton is top notch when it comes to both alfresco views and the delicacies on the plate. This season, we’ve decided to pull together a list of best restaurants to make it easy for you to experience the seaside and tablewide magic.

Located in the historic and stunning Canoe Place Inn & Cottages, Good Ground Tavern is anchored by coastal Mediterranean flavors with a menu that features creative takes on classic cuisine. Executive Chef Ülfet Ralph is an award-winning chef who trained at the Culinary Institute of Charleston, with additional advanced studies at the French Culinary Institute and Cornell, and has been featured multiple times on both Food TV and Travel Leisure Channel. Cowfish

This local favorite prides itself on celebrating the love of food and the world in which we live. With panoramic water views and a creatively flavorful menu featuring a combination of hearty fish dishes and perfectly prepared meat, you’ll wonder why you’ve never dined here before. Cowfish also has live music on Fridays and Sundays as well as happy hour specials on weekdays.

Sundays on the Bay

This authentic restaurant and marina is the perfect place to take in a dreamy sunset after a long day of exploring. Located right on the water, it goes without saying that Sundays on the Bay immaculately incorporates fresh seafood from local sources into their seasonal menus. Stop in for their all day everyday lobster special to experience this first hand.

Oakland’s Restaurant and Marina

One of our favorite restaurants in the Hamptons for creative seafood dishes is this waterfront destination. Their wide menu includes classics like local clams on the half shell and local sea scallops, but it also branches out to feature a delicious shrimp quesadilla, a staple seafood pasta, and more. They’ve been a local staple for over 30 years for good reason!

Rumba

This inspired island cuisine and rum bar offers some of the tastiest dishes north of the Caribbean. Intending to spice up the Long Island waterfront, Rumba serves a unique combination of dishes, premium handcrafted rum libations, reggae, and a low-key vibe all around. You’ll find this gem along the Shinnecock Bay (you can even arrive by boat) and once you’re here, you’ll swear you’re not in New York anymore.

Canal Cafe

When it comes to food near Southampton, this seaside restaurant takes the cake for tastiest lobster roll. Pull up by boat, bike, or car—all are welcome to enjoy the stunning views and comprehensive menu. Order the oyster poboy, clam fritters, and of course the iconic lobster roll if you’re looking to lean into your New England palate.

Barona Bay

This elegant eatery serves up chef-driven signature dishes, creative craft cocktails, and cool ambiance that make us rethink our feng shui every time we visit. Trendy and unusual, these dishes work perfectly in the most unexpected way.

Stay at Canoe Place

An amazing meal is only the beginning of your unforgettable weekend getaway on Long Island. The site of America’s oldest inn, Canoe Place is a boutique inn with a lush, luxe vibe and a centuries-old history. Our intimate property features luxury accommodations, regionally inspired dining, and a beautifully renovated grand ballroom and pavilion. Classic but cool, chic without being slick, now’s the perfect time to book a room and come away to your new old favorite.
